Job Description:
Inova Fairfax Medical Campus is looking for an RN Clinical Educator Nursing to work with the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) department within Inova L.J Murphy Children's Hospital.
The PICU at Inova Children's Hospital is the only one of its kind in Northern Virginia. The multi-specialty level I unit provides advanced technology and intensive care for critically ill and injured patients from birth to age 21.
Our nationally recognized, 226-bed Inova Children's Hospital houses comprehensive medical services and specialists who focus on the unique treatment of younger patients. Inova Children's Hospital is an award-winning, full-service children's hospital devoted to the healthcare of infants, children, and adolescents in the Northern Virginia area.

Clinical Educator Job Responsibilities:
- Utilizes system strategies and tools to assess the competency of new nursing staff members while focusing on quality of care and patient safety goals.
- Integrates theoretical knowledge, evidence-based principles and clinical nursing expertise into educational experiences for both new and experienced team members.
- Prepares annual self-development plans, sets professional goals and seek opportunities for achieving them.
- Contributes to quality and safety initiatives across the organization.
Hours: Full-time, M-F (regular office hours, with some flexibility as needed based on department needs)
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Master's Degree or BSN and enrolled in Master's program upon start. If RN has a BSN and enrolled in Master's program, RN must meet with their Nurse Leader within 3 months to conduct the following:
- Provide a written plan with anticipated Masters completion date
- Submit a review of transcripts from the school indicating the required pre-requisites and timeline for taking the courses
- Complete Masters within 3 years of start date.
- Experience: 2 years of progressive experience in nursing in designated specialty; 3 months of experience serving as preceptor
- Certification: BLS from the American Heart Association; Licensed or eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse or an active multi-state RN License.
